Academic: Exports may be down 22.7%

If the global economy in 2009 contracts by 1.7 per cent, as projected, Thailand’s exports will probably shrink by 17.7-22.7 per cent to a total value of US$146.33 billion, the director of the International Studies Centre at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Ath Phisalvanich, said on Thursday.
